What is counselling:
Counselling is ‘talking therapy’ By sharing and exploring such issues with a counsellor you can often ‘see’ what is needed to help resolve or move on with what is happening to you. Counselling provides a safe and confidential space to explore your thoughts and feelings.
Face to face counselling is received as warm and friendly, set in comfortable consulting rooms away from the noise and busyness of home or work, it is as fast or as slow as you want it to be, it is meeting with a real person where you can ‘see’ their smile and feel their empathy when sharing your story.
Online work may feel ‘odd’ at first since you can’t see your counsellor’ however, for some people this is not an issue as most want to focus on their issues and concerns.
Fears regarding not being able to 'see' the counsellor soon passes and you will soon become relaxed and confident and will get to know the counsellor through their text and expressions as they will get to know you also.
